Eurobike 2023: Valeo Cyclee motor proves itself in cargo bikes
The French automotive supplier Valeo is continuing to diversify and is presenting its e-bike solutions at Eurobike 2023 in Frankfurt (June 21-25). With the "Valeo Cyclee", the provider is highlighting its 48-volt electric assistance system for all types of bicycles. Since its introduction in December 2020, the company has attracted more than 25 customers – including La Manufacture Française du Cycle, Ateliers HeritageBike, Ultima, Mubea, VUF Bikes, Cycleurope, and FUELL – and has now begun delivering the system. Feedback from many customers confirms the system's performance for a wide range of applications, including cargo bikes, trekking bikes, and mountain bikes.
For the first time, the new drive enables the integration of a single module – installed in the pedal unit – a 48-V electric motor, an automatic gearbox – developed in collaboration with the company Effigear – and predictive software, promoting the system. This allows the assistance system to immediately adapt to the rider's style and needs, providing a smooth riding experience. The electric assistance is designed to be easy and quick to use and aims to become the equivalent of automatic transmissions in the latest generation of cars, according to the manufacturer. The company also leveraged aftermarket expertise to offer a customized service to bicycle dealers, with customer support now available in all European countries.
At Eurobike, Valeo, together with its partner Velco, will focus on connectivity using the latest models of high-performance connected bicycles from European and American brands. The collaboration, announced at the last Eurobike, will be further expanded with the aim of redefining the e-bike of tomorrow. The goal is to increase the safety of both the rider and the bicycle, extend the bike’s lifespan, and thus enable an overall better riding experience. FUELL is the first American brand to benefit from the partnership, with its products on display at the stand.
