The energy company EnBW from Baden-Württemberg is continuing to push forward in terms of charging networks and has now integrated all Fastned fast-charging points in Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. These are now available in addition to the more than 100,000 charging points in the EnBW HyperNetz for all EnBW mobility+ customers. As everywhere, the uniform price per kilowatt-hour also applies at Fastned's fast-charging points.

"Fastned and EnBW complement each other perfectly. Just as we are committed to expanding the nationwide fast charging infrastructure, our Dutch colleagues also rely on simple, fast charging with 100 percent green electricity and an optimal charging experience," advertises Timo Sillober, Chief Sales & Operations Officer of EnBW.

The 125 Fastned fast-charging locations in the connected countries (18 in Germany, 105 in the Netherlands, and two in Switzerland) with outputs of up to 300 kilowatts now densify the network in Baden-Württemberg. As with its own fast chargers, charging for 100 kilometers of range should only take five minutes there, depending on the charging power of the e-car. However, charging at Fastned is initially only possible with the EnBW mobility+ charging card, as the provider restricts.

Enabling Europe-wide electromobility

The goal of the collaboration is also to make Europe-wide mobility with electric cars even easier. "In addition to expanding our own fast-charging infrastructure, cooperations play an important role in our cross-border and dense charging network," explains Timo Sillober.

The energy company is investing around 100 million euros annually in the nationwide expansion of the charging infrastructure until 2025. With more than 450 of its own fast-charging locations, it already operates the largest fast-charging network in Germany today, and of the 250 new HPC locations and ten fast-charging parks, nearly every second new high-speed charging site built in Germany last year came from EnBW. The energy company intends to maintain this pace in 2021 as well, doubling the number of fast-charging locations to more than 1,000 this year.
