EnBW delights Bavaria with two large charging parks
Recently, the energy supplier EnBW from Baden-Württemberg expanded its network of fast-charging stations with two "large charging parks" in Erlangen and Memmingen. At the Erkheim exit of the A 96 motorway leading from Munich to the Allgäu region, eight fast-charging points are now available. At these points, electric taxis or rental cars suitable for high charging power can utilize up to 300 kilowatts of charging power. In Erlangen, on the busy A 3 slightly west of Nuremberg, there are 20 such fast-charging stations available.
Both charging parks are covered. Their roofs are equipped with solar panels that contribute to the supply of the charging points with green electricity.
Further major locations in Petersberg and Zwickau are on the verge of becoming operational, the utility company announced. In the first half of 2022, two more charging parks are to be added in Bad Kissingen-Oerlenbach on the A 71 and in Herleshausen on the A4. Each location will offer eight fast charging points. In Bad Kissingen, an expansion to 12 and in Herleshausen an expansion to 16 charging points is possible.
EnBW sees itself as the market leader in Germany with over 650 public fast charging locations. By the year 2050, the company aims to have up to 2,500 fast charging locations.
