eliso sets up 26 fast-charging points at Eichhorn building centers

More and more dealers are relying on fast charging points in their customer parking lots. Eichhorn AG also plans to equip its construction center locations with them in the future and is collaborating with the Stuttgart-based charging infrastructure specialist for this purpose. The plan is to commission a total of 26 fast charging points at all six locations.

The Stuttgart-based specialist for charging infrastructure, eliso, has announced plans to equip 26 construction centers of the Hessian company Eichhorn with HPC chargers. In light of the growing number of electric cars, charging while shopping is gaining importance, particularly fast-charging stations are in increasing demand, according to the provider. Customers would therefore have the opportunity to ideally combine the short charging time of their vehicle with their shopping. "This creates added value for retailers, customers, and the climate," says Julian Fahr, Team Leader for Project Development at eliso. Established in 1953, Eichhorn AG has become a significant player in the construction sector of the region. The wide range covers building materials for high, civil, road, and interior construction as well as for roofing and landscaping. Now, the range of services is also to be expanded in the parking lot.

In the coming months, all six construction centers in Birstein, Büdingen, Gedern, Glauburg-Stockheim, Lich, and Wartenberg-Angersbach will be equipped with the latest charging infrastructure. A total of 13 ultra-fast charging stations are to be installed, enabling a consistently high charging capacity of 200 kW, and in some cases even up to 400 kW. With charging stations at drive-through spaces, these will also be accessible for vehicles with trailers. A special feature is that the charging stations advance the fast-charging infrastructure in the smaller towns that, with one exception, have not yet had any fast-charging stations. The openings are planned by mid-2025.

"Within the framework of the Germany Network tender by the federal government, we are currently focusing primarily on development in the northern and eastern federal states. Nevertheless, we are pursuing the goal of establishing a comprehensive eliso charging network throughout Germany. Therefore, we are all the more pleased to have gained Eichhorn AG as a location partner," explains eliso Managing Director Johannes Brodführer.
