elexon supplies green electricity from SMA to the charging station

For its DC and AC charging stations, the charging technology joint venture elexon, founded in 2019, has now also included a green electricity tariff in its program. The elegantly designed DC (double) charging station with a scalable voltage range, also showcased at IAA Mobility, as well as the customizable and robust AC charging station, will now also optionally come with a green electricity package from joint venture partner SMA Solar Technology. The charging solutions are developed and built in Germany, the provider further emphasizes. The electricity tariff is available to all customers who choose the so-called 360-degree service. The SMA Join tariff is flexible, has no minimum term, and can be canceled monthly. The green electricity for this tariff is predominantly generated decentrally in Germany, with additionally required green electricity being purchased on the market, the provider promises. Electricity from renewable sources is often cheaper than conventional electricity, the charging solution specialist further advertises.

Our customers appreciate this all-round carefree package with a high sustainability character,” advertises elexon managing director Marcus Scholz.

Application: Green electricity in the parking garage

The provider has created a first example of the application of the overall system in its own company. The parking garage of SMA Solar Technology AG in Niestetal near Kassel is equipped with 19 elexon DC double charging stations with 22 kW, available to employees, visitors, maintenance personnel, and for pool vehicles. Fitted into the existing double parking lanes on the ground floor of the multi-story parking garage, a total of 38 charging points are available. The charging stations are operated with green electricity, and billing is done via company cards.
