Electromobility: Funding only with a "positive climate protection effect"
The subsidies for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are to be gradually reduced and reformed so that, starting from January 1, 2023, they will only be paid out for cars that demonstrably have a positive climate protection effect, according to the federal government. This is stated in the government's response to a minor inquiry by the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection is developing a new funding design, which will then be coordinated.
Immediate Program Planned
In response to the question of whether the federal government is solely focusing on electromobility in the passenger car sector to achieve climate goals or whether technology-neutral approaches are being pursued, the response states: "The programs and measures of the federal government are guided by the climate and environmental potential of the available technologies in the respective modes of transport." To achieve the climate goals by 2030, the federal government will intensify measures in the transport sector and present an immediate climate protection program.
