With the delivery of a Mercedes-Sprinter-based and converted E-transporter of the Heero type to Josef Paul GmbH and Co. KG, the Ismaning-based conversion specialist E-Works Mobility takes another step into the market. The focus is on the Heero E-transporter, which is manufactured based on the circular economy and aims to set standards in terms of performance and range.

“The Heero offers perfect opportunities for commercial vehicle dealers to meet the rapidly growing demand for electric vehicles in the commercial vehicle segment. For us, the concept of the circular economy is clearly in focus. We thus operate not only more sustainably compared to the major manufacturers but are also absolutely competitive in terms of price,” promotes Dominik Ashkar, Managing Director of E-Works Mobility.

For Patrick Weber, Sales Manager Car, Transporter & Van, who received the vehicle on behalf of Josef Paul GmbH and Co. KG, the first delivery is a clear signal to customers, but also to the competition.

“As a company with a tradition of around 200 years, we have constantly reinvented ourselves – technical innovations have always played a significant role. The Heero E-transporters, built on the basis of used Mercedes Sprinters, have especially impressed us with their high manufacturing quality and enormous performance data,” said Weber.

A real range of up to 500 kilometers, 245 horsepower, and scalability in terms of vehicle length and height as well as tonnage from 3.5 to 5.5 tons are strong selling points, Weber believes. Additionally, a favorable price and quick availability are important for commercial users. The manufacturer also boasts a strong towing capacity of 3.5 tons for E-vehicles.

Circular Economy as a Problem Solver in E-Vehicle Manufacturing

The fact that vehicle chassis and suspensions largely come from used existing vehicles is meant to make sense not only economically but also ecologically. Founder Ashkar sees the vehicle as a good example of how the circular economy can solve multiple problems. He announced ambitiously that they not only want to compete with the large manufacturers but also surpass their vehicles, especially in terms of range and reliability. The expansion of the dealer network will play an important role in the planned sales offensive alongside online sales. In terms of service, they aim to score points with 4G connectivity and online vehicle checks. Product updates and minor maintenance tasks or repairs will be handled by mobile teams. If a workshop visit is required, they plan to provide nationwide service locations from E-Works Mobility partners. From now on, this also includes the team of Josef Paul GmbH and Co. KG.

The E-Lorean was only the Starting Point

Founded in 2017 in Ismaning, E-Works Mobility GmbH develops and builds custom electric transporters and components for electric drives. In the past, the company garnered attention with an electric version of the cult sports car DeLorean DMC-12. For the E-transporter Heero, they developed suitable hardware and software in-house, which enables both the construction of new vehicles and the electrification of existing vehicles with combustion engines. By using used vehicle parts, the vehicle prices are significantly lower compared to comparable transporters from volume manufacturers.
