Groupe Renault CEO Luca de Meo made it a point to personally attend the first delivery of the Dacia Spring to the French provider E.Leclerc. The latter will offer the electric vehicle to its customers across 510 E.Leclerc stations nationwide, in a business configuration.

E.Leclerc plans to make approximately 3,000 Dacia Spring vehicles available by mid-2021. The fleet will be supplemented with an additional 1,000 Renault ZOEs.

"I am very pleased that our partnership with the Dacia Spring and Renault Zoe in E.Leclerc stations is gaining new momentum. This contributes to making electromobility accessible to as many people as possible. I am convinced that the mobility of tomorrow will develop in an ecosystem with useful, concrete, and practical partnerships like this one," said Luca de Meo.

German interested parties will have to wait until the official market launch this fall, but participants in the Dacia Spring Exclusive Program have been able to sign up for test drives since the end of March.

Following its product debut 16 years ago in Western Europe, the city SUV is now set to mark a new phase and drive the further development of Dacia. The entry-level "Comfort" version will be available starting at 20,490 euros. After deducting the BAFA subsidy amounting to 9,570 euros, the Dacia Spring for the German market would start at a manageable 10,920 euros. The second trim variant "Comfort Plus" starts at 21,790 euros or 12,220 euros respectively.

The all-electric SUV has a range of up to 230 kilometers, according to the WLTP mix, and up to 305 kilometers in urban areas, according to WLTP-City.
