Cooperation: WunderTree delivers Christmas trees with eSprinter

The Berlin start-up WunderTree and the Mercedes-Benz branch in Berlin have entered into a cooperation where private individuals and companies can have sustainable Christmas trees delivered in plant containers by eSprinter vehicles and conveniently picked up again this year, all without local emissions. Every year, over 30 million Christmas trees are felled, set up in businesses and private households, discarded, and eventually burned. This process results in the emission of up to 450,000 tons of CO2. WunderTree, a member of the global alliance of sustainable technology companies, Greentech Alliance, aims to tackle this problem. Every Christmas tree purchased through WunderTree is picked up after the holidays and replanted in forests.

With this climate-friendly approach, emissions are saved. At the same time, reforestation creates a long-term positive effect, argues the start-up company for its idea. The Berlin branch, as an exclusive partner, supports both the delivery and the pickup of the Christmas trees in Berlin and Potsdam. In total, eight Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vans are used to enable the local emission-free delivery of the Christmas trees. The trees will be delivered between November 27th and December 18th and picked up again between January 2nd and January 9th, 2021.
