Conference: Where is digitalization taking us?
Germany is the world champion in logistics – measured by the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI). But can we remain so in the future? After all, digitalization is increasingly encompassing many areas of daily life, and logistics is also facing disruptive upheavals.
A panel discussion titled "Monitoring & Transparency: Logistics Infrastructure in the Digital World Order" will explore this question at the Logistics Digital Conference LDC! (November 21-22, 2017, Messe Frankfurt). It will discuss how value-added networks, logistics centers, transport modes, and IT need to be organized in the future to continue operating efficiently in the era of Industry 4.0.
Participants in the discussion include:
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Benz, Managing Partner, Benz + Walter GmbH
- Prof. Dr. Michael Hauth, Chairman of the Intralogistics Network e.V. in Baden-Württemberg, Mannheim University of Applied Sciences
- Attorney Frank Weber, Head of Industrial Agency Germany, Jones Lang LaSalle SE
- Eva Zauke, COO of the Business Unit IoT and Digital Supply Chain, SAP SE
- Marcel Schmidt, Head of Marketing, Lieferlotse UG (limited liability)
The discussion is organized by the sister publications LOGISTRA and LOGISTIK HEUTE. It will begin on Wednesday, November 22, at 11:30 a.m. in Module 3 of the Logistics Digital Conference – Session 4. The event will be moderated by Thilo Jörgl, editor-in-chief of LOGISTIK HEUTE, and Sandra Lehmann, editor of LOGISTIK HEUTE.
The Logistics Digital Conference LDC! is part of the Hypermotion Fair (November 20-22, 2017, Messe Frankfurt) and is themed "Shaping the Future of Logistics and Mobility." A total of six sessions will be hosted, organized, and moderated by the publications Hebezeuge Fördermittel, LOGISTIK HEUTE, LOGISTRA, Transport, and the conference brand EXCHAiNGE.
The Logistics Digital Conference LDC! will be inaugurated on November 21, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. by Dorothee Bär, MdB, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics.
