Citroën "E-Routes" App: Exclusive Travel and Charging Planning for the ë-C4

Citroën presents the new app "e-Routes", the companion for electric car owners to experience stress-free journeys with efficient charging planning. This new service, available for the ë-C4 and ë-C4 X, is designed to optimize the use of these emission-free models for long distances.

"e-Routes by Free2move Charge" is a travel planner launching from October and will be available through a dedicated smartphone app. To guide the driver and optimize their journey, e-Routes retrieves the vehicle's data in real-time and suggests possible routes based on the status of the charging stations along the way.

App Based on Routing Algorithms

According to Citroën, the routing algorithm should be a benchmark in the market. The app calculates the most suitable route taking into account the location of charging stations, their quality (number and characteristics of charging points at each station), and availability (information on available, in use, or out of service charging points). A seamless connection to the vehicle that dynamically shares the required vehicle data (battery charge level, energy consumption, ambient temperature, etc.) with e-Routes to provide specific information such as predicted range and charge status upon arrival. The vehicle's telematics box enables this "over the air" exchange of critical data.

A connected navigation system with maps that are always up to date, combined with real-time traffic information and other data (speed limits, road closures, etc.)
