In the style of the recently launched budget model C3, Citroen has now also given the green light for the C3 Aircross. With an additional 40 centimeters, it measures 4.39 meters in length, 1.79 meters in width, and 1.66 meters in height, offering the best space in its class and optionally available with seven seats. The trunk volume of the five-seater is 460 liters, and with folded seats, it can reach up to 1,600 liters. In the seven-seater, the rear seat bench is shifted forward by 65 millimeters, yet the second row is said to offer as much space as in the C3. In addition to a 1.2-liter turbo gasoline engine with 100 hp, the new C3 Aircross will also be available with two other powertrain options: a 136 hp strong 48-V hybrid drive and a fully electric version with a range of over 300 km. Another version with an electric range of over 400 km is expected to arrive in 2025.

Hybrid as an interim solution with electric driving capability

The hybrid drive is combined with an electrified and French-made e-CDT dual-clutch automatic transmission, which includes a 21 kW/28 hp electric motor powered by a 48-V lithium-ion battery. It offers a towing capacity of up to 1,250 kg. The powertrain is intended to reduce both fuel consumption and emissions. The electric motor (permanent magnet synchronous machine) supports the combustion engine to transparently reduce fuel consumption, enables 100% electric driving for almost 50% of urban use, and promises to charge the battery through recuperation.

Electric Version with 44-kWh Battery

The electric version relies on an 83 kW/113 hp motor combined with a 44 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery and offers a top speed of 145 km/h. The ë-C3 Aircross can tow up to 350 kg, enough for a rear-mounted bike carrier. The standard AC charging from 20% to 80% of the battery takes about 4 hours and 10 minutes at a power of 7 kW, and approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes at 11 kW. DC fast charging goes up to 100 kW, which translates to 26 minutes from 20% to 80%. The new app called ë-ROUTES is designed to make it easier to plan trips, monitor the battery charge status in real-time, and optimize driving times by locating the best charging stations.

The most important driver assistance features are available

The C3 Aircross includes a range of driver assistance systems, such as Active Safety Brake, active lane keeping, Driver Attention Alert, speed limit recognition, electric parking brake, automatic high beam assist. In addition, parking sensors front and rear provide acoustic warnings to the driver about nearby obstacles. When reverse gear is engaged, a rear camera is activated, offering a view behind the vehicle and alerting the driver to potential obstacles on the 10.25-inch color display (if available).
