Citroën has unveiled the first images of the new B-SUV C3 Aircross, which, like the C3, is based on the Smart-Car platform and thus designed from the outset for an electric offering. Additionally, it is available with a conventional combustion engine and, for the first time, with a hybrid drive. The Aircross also offers up to seven seats inside – thanks to its length of 4.39 m. This allows for more legroom for the rear passengers. The vertical design of the rear side and back sections, as well as the vehicle's size, also ensure ample headroom for passengers in the third row, who sit on two foldable seats in the actual trunk space.

Two-tone Roof

Among the distinctive design elements of the vehicle are the new Citroën logo and the two-tone roof. The coloured clips present on the bumper and on the C-pillar can also be changed at will. Typical for an SUV, besides the increased ground clearance, are the high and horizontal bonnet, widened fenders and wheel arches with protection that can accommodate large wheels with a diameter of up to 690 mm.

What does this mean?

The C3 Aircross will be available for order starting in the summer of 2025. It thus enters an important market segment. Since 2020, B-SUV sales have surpassed those of B-segment small cars in Europe. They exceed 2 million registrations each year in an increasingly competitive market. Citroën entered this market segment in 2008 with the C3 Picasso. The B-SUV category didn't exist back then, but Citroën was already offering a vehicle with an elevated seating position and an interior designed for functional use. The Aircross name appeared in 2017 with the C3 Aircross.
