Citkar Loadster starts production
The Berlin-based e-cargo bike start-up Citkar has now kicked off series production of its four-wheeled e-cargo bike Loadster and can immediately produce up to 160 units of the heavy cargo bike per month. The 2.72-meter-long and only 98-centimeter-wide cargo quad is approved as a pedelec and features a variably designed loading area. This can be utilized with a 640 or 1,350-liter box or as an open and pallet-compatible platform, and can carry up to 200 kilos with a curb weight of 180 kilos. A trailer can also be combined. The 250-watt hub motor offers 100 Nm of torque and, thanks to two replaceable batteries, provides pedal assistance for up to 60 kilometers. The chassis of the steel frame is based on automotive construction, featuring independent suspension at the rear and a rigid front axle with leaf springs. The manufacturer plans to produce up to 100 units this year.
