Charging Concept: Full Power Everywhere - At Home, at the Company, Publicly
No energy transition without a mobility transition – and this is gaining significant momentum in 2021. Approximately 250,000 new vehicles were registered in the first nine months of the year, Kreutzer Consulting recently determined in its market study conducted with Verivox. With the registration numbers, the number of electromobilists seeking simple solutions to charge their e-vehicles at home and on the go is also increasing. Similarly, the number of companies offering services with tangible touchpoints on the topic of electromobility is also on the rise.
Energy Market Solutions, the joint subsidiary of the majority shareholder Entega and the Viessmann Group, has developed a portfolio for all electricity-related applications: autoSTROM is a product family for end customers from the private and commercial sectors who want to charge at home, at the company location, and/or publicly.
“We see exciting dynamics in the market,” describes Florian Müller, Managing Director of EMS, the current situation: “More and more end customers are having their specific needs crystallize more clearly regarding their personal mobility transition.”
Thus, after offering a tariff for charging at home, there was quick feedback that in many cases the measurement was done together with the house electricity. As a result, the tariff offering was expanded. With both product variants, EMS was present in the newly created autoSTROM category on Verivox from day one. Indeed, over half of the customers sign up for the tariff for combined measurement.
App and Charging Card
In October, the offering was further expanded with an app as well as a charging card for use in public spaces. On December 15, 2021, EMS also launched a portal where e-mobilists can claim their greenhouse gas reduction rights (GHG quota). But not only drivers and owners have firmly set their sights on the opportunities of e-mobility.
“We are increasingly speaking with companies for whom we are developing attractive additions to their business areas in this field,” says Florian Müller.
For example, in cooperation with EMS, since mid-November Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement GmbH, a provider of sustainable business mobility solutions, has supplemented its e-mobility product "AlphaElectric" aimed at fleet operators and their drivers with an incentivized charging electricity product from EMS.
Deutsche Telekom is also involved
Since October, as part of the 'Future Taxi' project in Hamburg, Deutsche Telekom has been rounding off its commitment to e-taxis with special conditions for the charging electricity product 'autoSTROM by EMS' at the charging stations of its charging infrastructure subsidiary Comfort Charge. Due to the positive response from taxi associations, the offer was rolled out nationwide after just a few weeks.
