The trade fair in Las Vegas is considered the world's most important technology event and, according to Stellantis, the ideal stage to showcase the capabilities of the group and provide a glimpse into the future of advanced electrification, interior technology, autonomy, and connectivity.

"Vehicles are an integral part of digital life and the future of mobility will be driven by technology," said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis. "Key facets of this future are electrification – we already offer 30 electrified models including fuel cell vans – connectivity and autonomy – none of which stand alone. Our creativity, engineering, and innovative partnerships accelerate our endeavor to create the best and most sustainable mobility for our customers."

The Europeans: Fiat, Citroen, and DS

The new 500e is Fiat's flagship. The iconic small car is the most popular Fiat and the epitome of the Italian car. The new model is connected, has a range of up to 320 kilometers, features an 85-kilowatt fast charging function, and is the first city car with Assisted Driving Level 2.

With the Citroën Ami, Stellantis is introducing the ultra-compact city electric car for two passengers for the first time in America. In France, the Ami is accessible to users from 14 years old, with "à la carte" offers for specific uses, fully connected with only three hours charging time – and innovative sales concepts.

Also presented by Citroën is an autonomous and electric transport robot that, in conjunction with pods, offers seamless urban mobility – the Skate Mobility Concept.

The two-time title defender DS E-Tense FE21 in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship weighs only 900 kilograms with the driver, uses a 900-volt system with a 52-kilowatt-hour battery that powers an electric motor with 249 kW (338 hp) output. The lightweight design combined with electric torque ensures acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in about 2.8 seconds. This real electric racing laboratory paves the way for innovations in the fully electrified model range of DS Automobiles.

The Americans: Jeep, Chrysler, and Wagoneer

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the most capable, technically advanced, and sustainable Wrangler in history so far. The Wrangler 4xe's plug-in hybrid powertrain, available in Europe, China, and the USA, enables nearly silent, locally emissions-free, all-electric driving with a range of up to 50 kilometers.

The Grand Cherokee also debuts as a plug-in hybrid. The Grand Cherokee 4xe has an estimated electric range of up to 40 kilometers, offers 276 kW (375 hp), and a torque of 637 Newton meters. It features the state-of-the-art Uconnect 5 infotainment system with new technologies for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This includes a 25.7-centimeter display, five times faster operating speed compared to the previous generation, and over-the-air updates.

Chrysler is introducing the Airflow concept car. It aims to lead the brand's shift towards clean mobility and seamlessly connected customer experiences. The importance of the Airflow for the company was emphasized by CEO Carlos Tavares during Stellantis Software Day in early December. It was his vehicle of choice from the vast Stellantis portfolio as he drove onto the stage.

An American icon is being reborn – Wagoneer. The expansion of the Jeep brand offers 4x4 capabilities and design that is meant to exude American craftsmanship and tradition, in full-size SUV format. A variety of features, such as exclusive Fire TV and a front-passenger display, underscore the brand's premium claim.

What does this mean?

The company has navigated the crisis year of 2021 better than many competitors and aims for a profit margin of ten percent for the fiscal year – the VW Group, in comparison, expects only a maximum of 7.5 percent. The merger of PSA and FCA into a global player among automakers seems to be unleashing electric energies.
