CES 2022: Infotainment systems, pedestrian protection, and self-stabilizing motorcycles from Intellias

The technologies shown are based, among other things, on Embedded Software Engineering, Cloud, and the latest developments in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and big data. At CES, Intellias showcases its developments for the booming market of gesture control and handwriting recognition – by 2022, this market is expected to grow by over 600 million dollars compared to 2018. This growth is primarily driven by new technologies such as machine learning and AI, as well as the goal of enabling vehicle interaction that ensures minimal distraction from driving.

Climate Control with TomTom

Moreover, at CES, Intellias is presenting a climate control solution developed on the basis of the IndiGO software platform that TomTom launched in November 2021. As a cooperation partner of TomTom, developers gained early access to the IndiGO platform. Design, development, and testing of the HMI solution were independently carried out by Intellias until it was ready for mass production. With Intellias’ seamlessly integrated climate app, drivers can centrally and particularly intuitively control the vehicle's entire heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, which results in less distraction and more safety while driving.

Pedestrian Detection through AI

The topic of safety is also a focus in pedestrian tracking. As cities grow, so do traffic volumes and the risk of accidents. The consequences can be catastrophic, especially for more vulnerable road users such as pedestrians or cyclists. Therefore, Intellias has developed a module for pedestrian detection and collision prediction that combines machine learning, AI, and object recognition while foregoing additional technologies like LiDAR. This makes it a cost-effective solution for enhanced traffic safety and an important driver for autonomous driving.
