Canoo delivers first EVs to NASA

Even though the futuristic Canoo vans may resemble spacecraft, NASA's latest electric vehicles are not intended to leave Earth. They are used to transport astronauts to the launch pads of moon missions.

"It's a very proud day for Canoo and all our partners who have worked so hard to ensure that we play our part in transporting the astronauts for the first nine miles of each launch," explains Tony Aquila, CEO of Canoo.

Canoo has specifically designed the interior of each transporter for the transport of astronauts and flight attendants in full gear. The automaker announced that it will show more images of the interior and exterior of the vehicle throughout the year – and possibly deliver the first civilian Canoo EVs.

Series Production in Rented Manufacturing Plant

The car manufacturer had rented a facility in Oklahoma City at the beginning of the year, but still faces significant challenges before it can start large-scale vehicle production. The company had to endure large losses and barely survived an investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at the beginning of the year.
