BYD introduces Xuanji vehicle architecture and on-board drones

BYD presented the new Xuanji vehicle architecture at its Dream Day 2024 at its headquarters in Shenzhen. The system perceives changes in the vehicle interior and the external environment of the vehicle in real time. It consolidates the information at the millisecond level and sends it back to the central “brain” to quickly adjust driving movements, thereby increasing driving safety and comfort.

Multimodal Artificial Intelligence for Vehicles

Additionally, BYD introduced the Xuanji AI Large Model, a multimodal artificial intelligence for vehicles. According to the company, this AI technology boasts the largest data base in the industry and high computational power, covering more than 300 driving scenarios.

Integrated Drone Bay

A highlight of Dream Day 2024 was the "Intelligent Driving" exhibition. It offered a comprehensive insight into various intelligent innovations – such as the opportunity to test the Denza N7 with NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), operate the Yangwang U8 with a vehicle-mounted UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System), test the e4 concept car, e4 parking, and intelligent access systems.

In collaboration with DJI, BYD has developed the world's first vehicle-integrated UAS, pioneering the way for an integrated automotive-grade drone bay. The system features intelligent storage, automatic battery replacement and charge management, enabling one-click takeoff and landing. It provides high-resolution images with a high frame rate and low latency for stunning aerial shots.
