The partnership agreed between Bosch and the PTV Group, the world market leader for mobility and transport software, aims to combine Bosch's expertise in measuring, modeling, and analyzing air quality data with PTV's expertise in traffic planning and simulation. The two companies see over 2,000 potential customers in more than 120 countries for their innovative solution.

Data for Traffic Management

An initial concrete implementation of the cooperation has already taken place. Accurate emissions data created by Bosch is now available in the PTV Vissim traffic simulation software. Bosch calculates this data using its cloud-based Air-Quality platform based on comprehensive traffic data. City and traffic planners can quickly check with PTV Vissim how traffic measures, such as adjusted traffic light control, affect vehicle emissions and thus air quality.

Much Potential for Further Developments

Bosch and the PTV Group are planning further innovative solutions based on a common data platform for the future. For example, the immissions data created by Bosch using artificial intelligence is also to be integrated into PTV's various software solutions. In addition, a team of experts from both companies is working on a comprehensive "City Dashboard," which will be able to analyze and visualize air quality data in real-time in addition to existing mobility data.
