With a new supplier for Bio-CNG, the gas station operator OrangeGas Germany GmbH is starting the year 2022. The new contract allows the prices for the climate-neutral fuel to be reduced to one euro in January, according to the company. The price will drop in the promotional month of January for both gas qualities to one euro per kilogram (previously: 1.169 €/kg for quality H and 1.049 €/kg for quality L). This results in a diesel-equivalent price of 75 cents per liter and a gasoline-equivalent price of 65 cents per liter for quality H.

"For driving as cheaply as with Bio-CNG, gasoline would have to cost only 65 cents per liter and diesel only 75 cents per liter," explains Johan Bloemsma, Germany head of OrangeGas, the price advantage in January.

The new Bio-CNG is produced from agricultural residues and manure and is therefore climate-neutral. Until now, Bio-CNG made from straw was only climate-friendly, as only 90 to 95 percent of CO2 emissions compared to fossil gasoline and diesel were saved.

"Bio-CNG is thus the only drive system that can achieve nationwide climate-neutral mobility with cars, vans, buses, and trucks in Germany," said Bloemsma. "This is particularly important for freight companies and businesses with transport tasks, as our fuel significantly reduces their CO2 footprint."

OrangeGas Germany currently distributes Bio-CNG through around 125 stations. Sales growth is expected to be realized particularly through the use of Bio-CNG in trucks. Therefore, the company is working closely with fleet operators to optimize the existing filling station network for trucks. They are also currently looking for locations where new CNG and LNG stations are to be built.
