BEM plans foreign representation
The Federal Association for eMobility (BEM) is expanding its international network and is preparing to open a BEM representation in the USA. Following the one-week delegation trip organized by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs to the Transatlantic Electric Mobility Forum in Tennessee and Alabama in mid-November, the association has entered advanced talks with the USA representation of the German commercial vehicle manufacturer pepper motion. The trip aimed to showcase German eMobility solutions, strengthen existing commitments, and expand bilateral cooperation.
"Interest in German eMobility technologies in the USA remains strong and is expanding to include suppliers after extensive investments by OEMs. As an association with a cross-modal approach, a USA representation is of great value for discussions with American stakeholders and for German industry representatives entering the market there," reports Frank Müller, head of the capital office and coordinator of BEM's foreign representations.
Particularly in the context of current tensions between the USA and Europe, bilateral discussions between various stakeholders and industry participants offer a good opportunity to stay in contact on equal terms and to exchange long-term views on market performance, according to the association. The delegation trip was accompanied by economic representatives from the Volkswagen Group, Mercedes Benz, Heidelberg Amperfied GmbH, Heraeus Holding GmbH, and A. KAYSER AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS GmbH.
Representation at Trade Fairs
Through international networking, BEM has grown a network of international representations, with recent additions from Serbia and Slovenia. Consequently, the association is represented at numerous foreign trade fairs. Among the most prominent are Automechanica in Shanghai and Istanbul, as well as numerous conference formats, for example in South Korea, India, and European countries, which BEM accompanies on a professional level. BEM is thus participating in the information exchange of the Indian economic development agency "Invest India," which has invited them to a webinar about the growth potential for market development of eMobility in India. The focus will be on cooperation and production opportunities in the eMobility sector that are relevant to medium-sized companies. Interested companies and observers can register here for the exchange on the upcoming Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
