BayWa Mobility Solutions expands charging network in Austria with Smatrics

BayWa Mobility Solutions has entered into a cooperation with Smatrics EnBW in Austria, significantly expanding the range of its charging card. Up until now, e-car drivers could use the BayWa charging card to access 95 percent of the public charging infrastructure in Germany, with an additional 200,000 charging points available in other European countries.

"Effective immediately, BayWa charging card holders have access to around 250 additional fast-charging points in the neighboring country of Austria," explains Christian Krüger, Managing Director of BMS.

The cooperation is an important step in offering customers a continuously growing acceptance network outside of Germany. Another advantage is the high quality of the connected charging stations.

"We ensure safe and efficient charging," assures Hauke Hinrichs, CEO at SMATRICS.

With this cooperation, customers benefit from high-quality public charging stations and a tightly-knit charging network, promotes Hinrichs. The SMATRICS EnBW network is Austria's only nationwide high-performance charging network. In addition to the existing 250 DC and HPC charging points, around 150 more new charging points will be added this year.
