BayWa AG has a new investor: Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP). The new partner of the Munich-based conglomerate is taking a 49 percent stake and bolstering BayWa r.e. with an equity injection of 530 million euros. CEO Klaus Josef Lutz is pleased:

“It shows that we set off on the right path eleven years ago.”

Renewable energies are the group's biggest profit driver. In 2019 alone, BayWa successfully generated capital, totaling 1.03 billion over two years. However, the deal with EIP is still awaiting regulatory approval.
