At the new charging stations, electric vehicles can be charged with a peak power of up to 300 kW. Nationwide, 44 ATU branches already have charging stations. Overall, ATU plans to establish up to 400 fast-charging stations with 900 charging points in the coming years. In addition to two HPC ultra-fast charging stations with four latest-generation charging points, there are eight charging points with 22 kW power. The charging stations are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Besides the usual charging cards, the two HPC stations also accept payments with EC card, credit card, and Apple Pay. The charging stations support all common charging cables and are compatible with a variety of electric vehicles.

“We at ATU are pleased to be part of the sustainable mobility transition and to contribute to the promotion of electromobility,” says Lars Heyne, Managing Director of Transformation at ATU. “The installation of twelve charging points in Weiden and the equipping of 400 ATU branches nationwide with modern charging infrastructure are further steps to make electromobility accessible to more and more people.”

Goal: 400 Charging Stations

The installation of E-charging stations in Weiden is part of ATU's wide-ranging initiative to expand electromobility in Germany. Together with the Dutch charging infrastructure provider Allego, ATU is currently expanding its charging network on a large scale. By 2025, the two companies plan to build up to 400 fast charging stations in Germany. Currently, there are already fast charging stations at 44 ATU locations, and plans for additional branches are progressing rapidly. This way, ATU significantly contributes to reducing range anxiety among e-car drivers and increasing the attractiveness of electromobility.
