5th National Cycle Logistics Conference: IAA TRANSPORTATION as a Major Stage for Bikes

The 5th National Cargo Bike Logistics Conference will take place as part of the IAA TRANSPORTATION on September 18, 2024, in Hannover and is also closely linked with the award for "Cargobike of the Year", which will also be held in its fifth edition on September 19 under the auspices of HUSS-VERLAG and its specialist publication LOGISTRA. This creates a strong thematic block on the subject of commercially used cargo bikes at the fair. From the perspective of the organizer, the German Cargo Bike Logistics Association (RLVD), cooperation with one of the most important European trade fairs for mobility and transport means is of great importance. It is intended to provide the conference with an "outstanding stage" and strengthen its role in promoting more sustainable mobility.

Tom Assmann, Chairman of the German Association for Bicycle Logistics (RLVD), also emphasizes that bicycle logistics and cargo bikes have now become an established component of CO₂-neutral freight transport. The close cooperation and the dedicated Cargo Bike Area at the trade fair clearly express this. Under the motto "How can we grow together?", the conference will highlight central themes that shape the future of bicycle logistics, particularly the question of how the industry can be strengthened and expanded internationally. Topics to be discussed include, among others, the competitiveness of bicycle logistics, personnel issues, innovations, and the vision of bicycle logistics in the city of tomorrow. Highlights of the conference include an Introduction to Bicycle Logistics for trade fair visitors before the conference begins. Additionally, conference participants will have the opportunity to visit the IAA fair and experience the IAA Cargo Bike Course, where various cargo bikes can be tested.
